2010 Q Song Finalists Announced

posted Thursday, 1 Jul

Q Music have announced the finalists for Q Song 2010.

The judges faced an enormously difficult task with almost 1600 songs entered in Q Song 2010. Each song was judged anonymously (track title only) by a team of dedicated music industry representatives.

“Judges were once again overwhelmed by the enormous talent of Queensland songwriters and the high quality of entries across all genres” Executive Officer Denise Foley said. “Q Song continues to be a platform for songwriters of all ages and all corners of Queensland. Our youngest finalist this year is just 10 years old.”

The winners will be announced at the 5th annual Q Song Awards night to be held at The Tivoli, August 10, 2010.

Tickets for the event are on sale from July 6 and are available from www.qsong.com.au or by phoning Q Music on (07) 3257 0013.

A limited number of tickets are available to music fans for the event.

Tickets are $25 for Q Music members, students and concession card holders and $35 for non-members. Ticket price includes finger food.

Doors open at 6pm for a 7pm start and the event concludes at 10pm.

All winners of all categories will be announced on the night. The evening will be hosted by 612 ABC Brisbane’s Richard Fidler and Sarah Howells from triple j.

The awards night will feature guest performances from the legendary Kev Carmody, rising country music star Adam James, 2009 Rock Award winners 26, 2009 Courier-Mail People’s Choice winners Mexico City, Tara Simmons, festival favourites Dubmarine, teen sensations Freak Morice and more to be announced.
