Arts Yakka is Hard Yakka - Regional SwapMeets 2010

posted Saturday, 1 May

Driving arts projects within regional communities can be hard yakka. From May-July 2010, the Queensland Arts Council will run a series of free workshops and networking events for arts and community workers active in regional communities. The ArtsYakka SwapMeets are designed to jumpstart your creative engine and provide a roadmap for driving your arts/cultural projects further.

The sleek, road-tested model of community engagement will involve a weekend of interactive workshops and forums to build skills in arts and cultural project development, attracting support and resources, and community consultation.

Meet with other creative thinkers and community workers from your region and swap ideas, build partnerships and develop quality arts and cultural projects in your communities.

Artists, artsworkers, Local Arts Council members, cultural development and youth development workers, RADF committees, teachers, museum, gallery and library employees, community volunteers, those engaged in community health, regional tourism, local government and business are all invited to attend.

The ArtsYakka Regional SwapMeets are community-focused and participant-driven - it's all about your region and your community.

There are 5 ArtsYakka SwapMeets planned. Go to the one nearest you!
