ACPA Students bare Souls in Dance and Music Theatre

posted Thursday, 1 Jul

The Aboriginal Centre for the Perfroming Arts and QPAC are joining forces to co-present a piece of theatre and dance that is unique in Queensland’s cultural landscape.

Soul Music is a music theatre celebration of identity – of finding it, of losing it, confronting it and drawing strength from identity’s deepest well - the soul. The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island performers from ACPA present a world premiere which will take the audience on a joyous and poignant journey of self discovery through contemporary song, dance, poetry and comedy.

Souls Entwined
is a showcase of contemporary Indigenous dance. Artist in residence, the esteemed Aboriginal choreographer Gina Rings, alongside Richard Causer and Elise May from Expressions Dance Company create a diverse range of movement, music and storytelling showcasing the unique qualities of the ACPA dance majors.
