A Level of Transparency presents a series of independent projects from the artists engaged in this year’s Postgraduate Diploma Animateuring course.

These independent projects offer each artist the chance to explore, re-define and begin articulating their individual and independent practices and to extend their outcomes, dialogues and concerns with an invited audience (that'd be you!)

Participants Jamie Lewis, Kali-Rose, Rockie Stone and Kieran Swann have created performances which respond to material that has called, gnawed or scarred the artist to a point where it could no longer be ignored. The projects have given participants the opportunity to re-form and re-structure their established work practices, embarking on a new direction for each artist.

The public are invited to engage with this process by attending one of the evenings of presentations – to witness, encounter, be complicit with and curiously discuss each artist’s investigative outcomes.

A Level of Transparency takes place at the Arts Centre (Theatre 418 and 419, Building 199, 757 Swanston Street, Parkville Campus) from Thursday, August 26 to Tuesday, August 31 (excluding Sunday, August 29). Admission is free and no bookings are required, but capacity is very limited, so get in early.

Find out more about the VCA and Music School of Performing Arts over at their website, and follow the process of the Level of Transparency projects at the blog.
