The 10th Perth Theatre Trust & Equity Benevolent Guild Professional Theatre Awards were held on 2 November at the Perth Concert Hall with Perth Theatre Company (PTC) associated shows scooping a swag of prizes.

Geoff Gibb’s Best Newcomer Award:

Best Supporting Actor (Male):
Sean Walsh, Taking Liberty, PTC

Best Supporting Actor (Female):
Sophia Hall, The Haunting of Daniel Gartrell, Delira Pdns/PTC

Best Actor (Male):
Luke Hewitt, Speed the Plow, PTC

Best Actor (Female):
Rosemarie Lenzo, Rose, Agelink Theatre/ PTC

Best Design (in any medium):
Bryan Woltjen, Far Away (set and Costume), Black Swan State Theatre Company


Best Director:
Chris Bendall, Checklist for an Armed Robbery, Deckchair Theatre Company

Best Production:
Taking Liberty, PTC

Best New Play:
Taking Liberty, Ingle Knight, PTC

The Equity Guild Heritage Award went to senior actor Faith Clayton who appeared in the very first Festival of Perth near the beginning of her 50 year career. Her acceptance speech was the comedy highlight of the night.

The Guild Award went to Actor/Director/Producer Jenny Davis who was the former Artistic Director of the WA Youth Theatre Company and is now the force behind Agelink Theatre.
