Ausdance has announced a new course - the Ausdance Skill Set for Teaching Dance. It is a short course that provides dancers with the skills and teaching strategies needed to successfully teach dance in community, recreational and social settings (including schools).
Those who complete the course will receive a nationally-recognised Statement of Attainment. Ausdance is also working to have the skill set credited towards the soon-to-be formalised National Dance Qualifications, which are being developed by government contract by Verve-Knowledge & Skills through Innovation and Business Skills Australia (IBSA).
This new short course has been developed by Ausdance Victoria, with the assistance of the Ausdance National office, and is comprised of the following four modules: Safe Dance; Professional Practice; Teaching methods, Constructing a Class Plan (40 templates are included).
