Barking Gecko will run their School Holiday Workshops for young people aged between 7 and 17 years at the Subiaco Arts Centre.
School holiday workshops are a fun and dynamic way of engaging young people with a passion for performing arts, the workshops will allow budding artists to work with industry trained tutors to explore, develop and enhance their skills in all areas of the performing arts.
Characters and Storytelling - Create you own superhero!
7-10 years
Learn important character development techniques to create a superhero. Develop a back-story, an arch nemesis and a trusty sidekick! See how your superhero fares in their own comic book adventure using role-play and improvisation.
Character Transformations - A toolbox for creating characters
11-13 years
Eight characters in four days! Can it be done? This workshop focuses on key improvisation and physical theatre techniques to transform between characters on stage. Be amazed by the imaginative characters you can invent.
Acting Intensive - Monologue Development and Acting for Camera
14-17 years
An intensive workshop for serious young actors preparing for their Original Solo Performance or drama school auditions. Explore creative approaches to monologue development, as well as an introduction to performing for camera.
All Workshops are held at the Subiaco Arts Centre from Wednesday 27th – Saturday 30th April. All classes run from 10am - 4pm.
