B Sharp Season Launch

posted Thursday, 1 Jul

Between August and December, B Sharp will present a range of Australian, international and classic plays, celebrating the spirit of independent theatre with work that is inspiring, questioning and thought-provoking. A range of directors, most making their B Sharp debut, will enliven the intimate Downstairs stage.

Annette Madden, Downstairs Theatre Director, said the works scheduled, "represent strong and vibrant visions, intelligent and irreverent investigations and varied and exciting performance styles.’

We'll post details on this page as each production approaches, but you can look forward to hearing details about Woyzeck, Fool For Love, Yellow Moon, The Sweetest Thing and A Distressing Scenario.

The Season will also include the announcement of the Philip Parsons Young Playwright Award and Memorial Lecture, featuring a prominent arts practitioner or commentator to be confirmed. Parsons, who passed away in 1993, was a co-founder of Currency Press.
