Following the vast success of crowdfunding in the US, Fundbreak is launching the first crowdfunding platform in Australia.
Developed for artists, musicians, filmmakers, journalists, designers, entrepreneurs, inventors, event organisers, software developers and other creative's, Fundbreak is an opportunity to raise funds and give project creators the break they need to realise their goals and aspirations.
‘Crowdfunding’ is a modern alternative form of funding allowing the ‘crowd’ (any individual in the world) to fund projects. Essentially, breaking down funding barriers for creators in need.
Fundbreak provides project creators with a platform to present their ideas to a worldwide audience. If anyone likes the idea, they can support it by pledging money to the creator's project. In return for support, the project creators will offer rewards depending on the level of funding.
Anyone in Australia, who cannot obtain funding for their ideas, now has Fundbreak to find a worldwide network of support sources.
For too long projects have been ignored. Great ideas dissolving into thin air, dreams repressed into memories and truly beneficial endeavours blocked by funding barriers. No single institution should have all the say, let the crowd be heard.
Fundbreak believes in an all or 'nothing' concept. If the project reaches the funding goal within the time frame, production begins and supporters receive their rewards. If the goal is not reached in time, the project will be deemed unsuccessful and no funds will be exchanged.
“Think about where humanity would be without creativity and innovation. Times that by a million, and that is where we would be without support for that creativity. That is why we cofounded Fundbreak ... The possibilities are endless.”
- Alan Crabbe, Co-founder of Fundbreak.
“Outside of being a collaborative way to fund ideas and fuel creativity, crowdfunding is an inherently powerful and democratic platform to enable the public to influence niche projects.”
- Rachael Botsman, Senior Sustainability Strategist.
Already, Fundbreak has had an excellent response from potential project creators after a preview of the website.
“Thanks for the sneak peek, am looking forward to the launch to see more amazing project proposals on your site :)”
- Twitter Follower.
