Bully! Bully!

posted Sunday, 1 Aug

Urban Myth Theatre of Youth presents a new Australian play tackling bullying, created and presented by young people 11 to 13 yrs of age.

Bully! Bully! is a must see for anyone who has ever been a bully, been bullied or been witness to the epidemic that is impacting young people to the point of fear, isolation and even suicide.

Through workshopping, writer/director Trish Herreen has guided her young cast with compassion and a dedication to creating quality theatre through the advocacy that theatre is a perfect platform for the discussion of issues and the human condition.

"Who better to investigate bullying on stage but the people who are right in the middle of the issue?" said Artistic Director Glenn Hayden.

"Reported incidents of bullying have trebled in the past two years and our young members have not been shy to create a play for their peers that cuts to the core of some of the problems they see around them … we couldn’t be prouder."

Urban Myth is a standout in Adelaide's youth theatre scene. It not only offers an important platform for the investigation of youth culture by young people, but is also a home for the future artists and arts leaders of the state.B

You can catch Bully! Bully! from September 16-18 at The Goodwood Institute Theatre (166a Goodwood Rd Unley Park).
