POSTCARDS HOME
What do you do when you are seven years old and your family is too noisy? Do you have anywhere you can go? Peter does. He takes his suitcase and goes off on a fun-filled adventure visiting his relatives.
Some live in a big city, some in the bush, some on a farm. Peter stays with them all and then discovers that his home might really be the place he is happiest. Buzz Dance Theatre has created a highly physical, and humorous dance theatre performance for children aged 4-8 in the January school holidays.
Postcards Home is a coming of age story where leaving the nest for the first time can be very exciting as well as a little scary and so is perfect for children off to school for the first time.
Created by Artistic Director Cadi McCarthy and company dancers Laura Boynes, Peter Fares, Hayley Schmidt and James Welsby, this performance is a wonderful introduction to storytelling through dance.
Children also have the opportunity of joining the dancers in a short one-hour workshop following the performance where they get to try out some of the moves and to use their own imagination in creating some steps.
January 18-25th at the King Street Arts Centre and January 27 & 28 at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre To book tickets call 08 9226 2322 or visit the Buzz website.
