Alex Talamo is a Melbourne-based writer, director and choreographer who is developing a 50 minute one-woman children's show, titled Rosy Nose and the Suitcase Adventure and incorporating physical theatre, clowning and puppetry.
Alex has over eight years' performance experience in circus and theatre. She co-devised, directed and performed in iCircus (Trick Circus, 2008), which toured regionally, and When I Grow Up (Trick Circus, 2006), which was the winner of three Melbourne Fringe Festival awards.
She has been a performing member of Le Petit Sideshow, Melbourne University Shakespeare Company, Rough and Tumble Theatre and Trick Circus Inc, and has performed at Corinbank Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival, the National Circus Festival, the Melbourne Fringe Festival, and the Swiss-Italian Festival. She was the President of acclaimed youth circus Trick Circus Inc for two years (2006-7). As well as being the co-director of Heist Productions, she owns a circus clowning company called Circus Surprise!, of which she is a director and performing member.
Canberra Youth Theatre is presenting the first ever showing of this new work on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 7pm. Rosy Nose and the Suitcase Adventure then opens at La Mama Theatre in February 2011, and will be showing at the Adelaide Fringe Festival in March 2011.
