Corrugated Iron Youth Arts and Alzheimer's Australia have joined forces in an exciting new partnership for Australian theatre.

The partnership involves two distinct projects, both with a performance core. They recently produced a musical theatre version of Mem Fox's Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge which involved a cross-generational cast highlighting the themes of the tale; and are are going on to run improvisation play-based activities in residential centres housing people with memory-related illness.

Subsequently, Corrugated Iron has been asked to present at the National Alzheimer's Australia Conference in May 2011 with their partner Alzheimer's NT and a large scale puppet from the show.

The partnership is a strong example of shared interests and values translating across seemingly unrelated organisations. The opportunity to talk about the partnership and the excellent outcomes is an exciting follow on to a successful project. Too often, organisations are quickly on to the next thing so the option to share their experience and success is fabulous.

You can find out more over at Corrugated Iron's website.
