Melancholy radiates from the cracks in the pavement. Whispers of chatter, ghosts of smiles. One rises up, another falls from grace. They all are enveloped by the paper. It protects and warms, creates a façade…

Celebrating the opening of Paperartzi 2011, Impressions on the Paper... is a powerful contemporary dance performance reflecting on homelessness, exclusion and difference in our community. This is an emotive and poignant performance illuminating aspects of our community that are usually out of sight.

Impressions on the Paper… has been developed by local choreographer Symantha Parr in collaboration with sculptor Simon Gilby, under the mentorship of Perth choreographer Aimee Smith.

Bring your picnic for an exciting evening of art and performance from the library lawn.

Future Landings is supported by the State of Western Australia through the Department of Culture and the Arts and is an outcome of Future Moves, vitalising contemporary dance in WA.
