Call Out for New One-Act Plays

posted Thursday, 1 Jul

Entries are now being called for the 2011 Noosa Arts Theatre National One-Act Playwriting Competition.

Now in it's 34th year, the Competition attracts entries from playwrights throughout Australia, and offers a total prize pool of $5,000, and a Publishing Contract.

This playwriting competition offers a unique opportunity for the winning Playwrights to see their new work performed on stage at Noosa Arts One-Act Play Festival, for a seven performance season over two weeks each June.

The winner of Best Play will take home a prize of $2,500.

During the seven days of the Festival, the audience are asked each night to vote for the ‘Audience Choice Award', with the winning script receiving prize money (donated by the family of the late Nancy Cato) plus a publishing contract with Maverick Musicals & Plays.

The winning play and the Audience Choice winning plays will also be performed during the Noosa Long Weekend festival in June.

Presentations of Awards take place on the final night of the festival.

For further information contact the convenor.

Entries close Monday 15th November.
