Meet Erth’s awesome prehistoric creatures – from cute baby dinos to teeth-gnashing giants when Erth’s Dinosaur Petting Zoo brings its ancient menagerie to Brisbane Powerhouse from Wed 30 June to Sat 3 July as part of this year’s one and only school holiday extravaganza, Powerkidz.

Kids of all ages, from 5 to 500, can get up close and personal with an amazing array of creatures from bygone eras. They can meet a wide range of insects, mammals and dinosaurs that once roamed freely around the southern hemisphere, and are now in residence at the petting zoo daily.

These life-like dinosaurs are alive and (mostly) friendly in this fun, educational and unique performance that will delight children and adults alike. Children can watch wide-eyed from a safe distance or dare to get right up close and hands on with the creatures.

Some of the dinosaurs you will meet are: the Dwarf Allosaur, a Victorian Theropod who will have you shaking in your boots; the Meganeura, a Devonian dragonfly that is the largest insect ever to have lived on earth; the Leallynasaura, a polar dinosaur who can see in the dark; and the Dryosaur or Minmi babies, who are a handful but are the cutest additions to the show.

Since its beginnings in 1990, Erth has strived to provide audiences with eye-popping visual experiences. Giant puppetry, stilt-walkers, inflatable environments, aerial and flying creatures – Erth is all this and more.

Erth has built an Australia-wide, and increasingly international, reputation based on exceptional work and has continually created original live theatre at the forefront of new performance practice.

Whatever they do, audiences – especially kids – just love it, whether they’re watching or getting up close and petting these amazing life-size dinosaurs.
