Fairy Fail

posted Friday, 1 Jan

Ever wondered where fairytale characters go to live happily ever after? Welcome to Fairyfail.

Goldilocks, the most popular girl in all of Fairyfail, has gone missing! The only person who can find her is Brownilocks, her lesser-known, less popular little sister. As she travels through Fairyfail, Brownilocks soon makes some new friends to help her search, crossing paths with the Big Bad Wolf, the witch in the Gingerbread House, Rumpelstiltskin and other seemingly scary Fairyfail residents.

Brownilocks quickly discovers, however, that they don’t quite live up to their menacing reputations and she learns of the terrible untruths her sister has been spreading about anyone who failed to adore her. Brownilocks is helped on her way and these lies, now brought into the light of day, lead to Goldilocks' chagrin and dismay.

These fairytale characters come to life through song, dance and laughter. Brydie Lee-Kennedy plays our fearless heroine Brownilocks; Jo Bourke the 'wicked' witch; Neal Downward the Big - but not so bad - Wolf; and Sophie Miller our musically-gifted Little Pig. Fairy Fail is an original comedy for the whole family, with a live musical score and lots of audience interaction.

To quote our friend the Wolf, "My 'tail' is a great tale to be told!"

Fairy Fail further establishes Tumbleweed Theatrical Productions' reputation for original and comedic children's theatre. Managed by Amanda Jessup and Brydie Lee-Kennedy, Tumbleweed Theatrical Productions has delighted audiences across Australia, at venues including Sydney's Bondi Pavilion and Roxbury Hotel, and received critical acclaim at The Melbourne International Comedy and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals.

Fairy Fail is showing at the Adelaide Zoo - Santos Conservation Centre (Theatrette)on the 20-21, 26-28 February; 5-7, 12-14 March 2010. For more information visit www.adelaidefringe.com.au.
