The nation-wide search is on to find a good-looking young guy to play the role of Drew Boley, a lead character in Rock of Ages. Drew has a boyish quality, great comedic timing, and is a potential rock star working in an LA club in search of his dreams.
Auditions for Drew will be held in Melbourne on Saturday, August 14, and Sydney on Sunday, August 15. The actor should be a young guy that can rock, with an incredible, stand-out voice and a gritty rock sound to sing 18 songs throughout Rock of Ages. A subtle sense of humour is a big plus.
Rock of Ages is a hilarious, feel-good love story, told through big '80s hit songs such as, 'I Want to Know What Love Is', 'Don’t Stop Believin', 'The Final Countdown', 'We Built This
City', and 'More Than Words' by iconic rockers such as Bon Jovi, Foreigner, Journey, Styx, REO Speedwagon, Poison, Starship, Pat Benatar, Whitesnake, and many more.
Set in 1987 on Sunset Strip, a small-town girl meets a big-city dreamer, and in LA’s most legendary rock club they fall in love to the greatest songs of the ‘80’s. Big hair meets big dreams in this rock 'n' roll comedy romance.
Rock of Ages was nominated for Five 2009 Tony Awards in the US and is currently playing on Broadway in New York and in Toronto, Canada, with productions planned around the world.
