Higher Ground presents its Fringe children's program

posted Monday, 1 Feb

The good people over at Higher Ground believe the Fringe is for everyone - including kids. The reality of live theatre is not only entertaining for children and young adults but also stirs young minds and imaginations and inspires a whole generation of youngsters to become the next great performing artists of tomorrow.

With this in mind, they've put together the Higher Ground Fringe Program with plenty to do and see for all ages. Here's a little look at what's on:

Hayali's Mess (suitable for 3-7 year olds)

Alone in the middle of the storm with only the lingering scent of her mother's baking for comfort Hayali discovers a special new friend who shows her a magical world full of imagination sharing and fun!

Erth's Dinosaur Petting Zoo (for 3-8 year olds & kids of all ages)

A journey through prehistoric Australia as the dinosaurs and creatures that roamed the landscape millions of years ago are brought vividly to life by the Erth performers and animatronic puppets.

C.I.T. School Matinees (for young adults)

Four shows from the incredible theatre program put together by the Centre for International Theatre are being performed as schools only matinees. Q&A sessions will follow each show and workshops and masterclasses with the CIT artists are available on request.

Higher Ground is an independent, not-for-profit, multi-arts centre, located in the heart of the city's cultural sector on Light Square. For more information on their Fringe program and other events, head to http://www.higherground.org.au/.
