Hoopla Clique is a creative and passionate collective of young physical performance artists, musicians and event architects.

They are a dynamic circus troupe providing an example of creative exploration, courage and freedom through workshop facilitation, performance and multi-sensory experiences.

Hoopla Clique combines original circus shenanigans with the flavoursome grooves of a live trio. Utilising a range of skills from traditional clowning to impressive acrobatic feats, Hoopla Clique is exploring the melding of physical expression and spontaneous sounds.

Formed in 2008, Hoopla Clique created event after event at their multi-functioning play-space, a warehouse in the outskirts of Brisbane called Outta Space. The collective also tours in a circus truck reaching audiences beyond Queensland’s capital city.

Hoopla Clique is currently preparing a revised version of their Blind Date Café, a show written, directed and performed by the collective in 2008.

If you are attending Island Vibe (October 30 – November 1, 2009), Peat’s Ridge Festival (December 29, 2009 to January 1, 2010) and the 2010 WA Circus Fest (January 23 to 25), keep your eye out for Hoopla Clique as the guys will be attending all three events. Otherwise you may bump into them at any of their events coming up at Outta Space.
