The Master has requested your presence for a very special evening that you’ll never forget.

Master & Servant examines the darker side of human relationships, the nature of power and status, and how the balance can be shifted by circumstances. What are the things you fear most? Are you afraid of the dark? Be prepared for a theatre experience unlike any you’ve known before.

This piece is an immersive installation event that directly involves the audience in the action. At each
session, the performance rotates twice in one hour intervals with a maximum of 20 guests per performance. The audience will be invited into the space and asked to sit by the Servant of the house, while the Mistress and Master slide out of the shadows to greet their guests.

What then ensues is a game of wits, directly implicating the spectators, where each character will  endeavour to gain the upper hand and secure the role as the head of the household.

There will be a murder! Who is guilty and who is innocent? The cycle then begins again. Each performance will be unique!

Ben Laden, Member of Jigsaw Theatre Company’s Artistic Directorate says he is looking forward to the
challenge of recreating this work in the surrounds of The Courtyard Studio at the Canberra Theatre Centre.

Suitabile for audiences 13+ years, Master & Servant plays at the The Courtyard Studio, Canberra Theatre Centre on Friday 11 March  to Saturday 19 March 2011 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm. The perfromance runs for 60 minutes and there is no interval - so go to th eloo before the show.
