Submissions are now being accepted from professional emerging and established theatre makers for productions to be staged at The Blue Room Theatre in the first half of 2011.
The Blue Room Theatre Seasons produce new work, discover and nurture new talent, and target and develop new audiences. They aim to support the artistic development of new performance, innovative ideas and exceptional performing artists in an affordable, accessible and creatively supportive environment.
Those artists selected as part of The Blue Room's 2011 season will be offered four week's access to a fully equipped venue, with a three-week production season in either The Blue Room Main or Studio space. Both venues are intimate and flexible black box theatres (60 and 50 seats respectively) and ideally suited for new and emerging producers to develop and showcase new work.
Artists will also receive a high level of professional support during their time with The Blue Room, including technical and production support and advice; marketing support including promotion as part of The Blue Room Theatre Season; front-of-house and booking service; support in business and project development; and a modest production fund.
To be eligible to apply for The Blue Room Theatre's 2011 Season, you must schedule a meeting to discuss your impending submission with Producer Kerry O'Sullivan between now and August 30. You can reach Kerry on (08) 9227 7005 or via email.
Applications close Monday 13 September 2010, but those applicants who have not discussed their application with Kerry by August 30 cannot be guaranteed a 2011 season application form.
