Kurruru was represented by a delegation of young performers at Vanuatu’s first performing arts festival, Wan Smolbag, in early June 2009.

Performers Damian Ralphs, Taree Sansbury, Rikki Wilson and Robert Young performed a new work which brought together the company’s twin focusses of dance and circus performance work.

The festival, coordinated by Vanuatu’s Wan Smolbag Theatre, invited Kurruru to take part in the festival to demonstrate the ongoing work the company undertakes with Aboriginal young people.
