Literary Lunch with Harry M. Miller

posted Monday, 1 Feb

Glen Street Theatre are proud to present their first literary lunch for 2010, featuring promotions legend Harry M Miller and publishing dynamo Peter Holder.

Mr Miller will be speaking about his new book, 'Confessions of a Not So Secret Agent', at the lunch, to be held at Glen Street Theatre on Friday February 19.

As a young man, Harry M Miller set out to become one of the world’s youngest showbiz impresarios. He left NZ for Australia in the late sixties and set about making his mark. He went on to become one of the Australian media and entertainment industries’ most influential men and over forty years later the people he has worked with makes a very impressive roll call...Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Sammy Davis Junior, Chubby Checker, Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey, the Rolling Stones, John Farnham, Marcia Hines, Graham Kennedy, Barry Humphries, Alan Jones, Lindy Chamberlain, Stuart Diver and Maggie Tabberer among them.

Mr. Miller has plenty of stories to tell about high profile people and the A, B and C lists in-between. His memoir, Confessions of a Not So Secret Agent, is full of witty anecdotes from Harry’s extraordinary life. At 75 he feels it is time to tell the whole story about his successes and failures, his clients, his marriages, his children and the many women in his life. He has lived large and learnt a lot and shares it all in his book.

Harry M Miller has made a long-standing contribution to both the arts and promotion of Australia internationally. He has done it all, promoter, manager, trouble-shooter. He lives in Sydney.

Peter Holder has worked extensively in both newspaper and magazine publishing. He is currently the Publisher of Australian Consolidated Press Men’s Titles and in this role is responsible for FHM, Rolling Stone, Empire, People and The Picture. He is also editor of Men’s Style Australia. Peter lives in Sydney with his partner and two children.
