Love Me Tender is a new Australian play by Tom Holloway. Fresh from a season at the 2010 Perth International Arts Festival, it presents a haunting vision of contemporary Australia drawn from experiences of catastrophic bushfires, pre-teen sexuality and domestic aspirations.

Set on a dreamscape of an Australian back yard, the play is a hard-hitting examination of a community that has forgotten how to deal with grief. Loosely inspired by Euripides’ Greek tragedy Iphegenia at Aulis, 'Love Me Tender' sees five actors teasing out the complex relationship between a father and daughter.

By the end, their dream of family life has been engulfed in fire, and a tale of pure love has become a searing tragedy of human frailty and sacrifice.

Directed by Matt Luton, with actors Luke Hewitt, Belinda McClory, Kris McQuade, Arky Michael and Colin Moody.

Tickets range from $25 (student rush) to $57.
