NITV gets "strong, smart and deadly" with a brand-new children's series, 'Yarramundi Kids', premiering weekdays at 7.00am and 11.00am EST from 15 February.
“The best multi-media performance I have seen at any conference ever.”
– Robbie Gilligan, Professor of Social Work, Trinity College, Dublin
Hot on the heels of the internationally acclaimed stage show, Yarramundi Kids is a brand new children’s series exclusive to NITV. The Yarramundi Kids educate children about the importance of family and friends, eating healthy food and caring for our environment by incorporating avatars, puppets, location stories, animation and Indigenous language segments in a fun and interactive way that will entertain the entire family.
An exciting collaboration between NITV and Indigenous media company Gracie Productions, Yarramundi Kids is a feel-good 13 part series for all Australian children and their families. The series will engage a broad Australian audience, as well as strengthen Indigenous children’s sense of identity and connection to place.
The show is the brainchild of Master Puppeteer Chris Burke, who has worked with children and families for over 30 years in a number of different roles that range from Teacher, Counsellor, Community Educator, Puppeteer, Script Writer and Director.
In every episode, the irresistible Yarramundi Kids Puppets™ – Nikita, Danny, Max, Lilli Pilli and Baby Ben - are joined by a host of some of our biggest celebrities, identities and positive Indigenous role models, including Jessica Mauboy, Deborah Mailman, Sean Choolburra, Jimmy Little, Casey Donovan, Deborah Cheetham, Chris Sarra, David Page and many more. Catch the Yarramundi Kids exclusive to NITV weekdays @ 7.00am and 11.00am EST from 15 February.
NITV is broadcast nationally to metropolitan and regional areas, as well as via Foxtel, Austar and Optus. Please refer to the website for further details - www.nitv.org.au/yarramundikids.
