Filled with adventure, mystery and some hilarious moments, the Australian premiere season of Escape from Peligro Island will be held in Adelaide from 25 March – 7 April at Forge Theatre, Marryatville High School, Adelaide.

More than a year in development, Escape from Peligro Island was inspired by the 1980s
Choose-Your-Own-Adventure books and is a collaboration between director Sam Haren, writer Finegan Kruckemeyer and designer Jonathon Oxlade.

Adelaide’s renowned The Border Project have celebrated success with interactive
theatre before, as Trouble on Planet Earth used the same concept, selling out to record
numbers and going on to win Best Show at the 2008 Adelaide Fringe, as well as a
coveted Ruby Award.

Windmill’s Artistic Director, Rosemary Myers knew straight away that Windmill would
commission The Border Project to create an interactive show for children.

"Trouble on Planet Earth was a brilliant, hugely entertaining show and so unique in the way the audience participated and steered the direction of the play. My son and I absolutely loved it, and we were not alone. We are very excited about premiering this new work, especially as we already have several other theatres around the country who are interested in the show."

Composers Cameron Goodall and David Heinrich, lighting designer Mark
Pennington and controller designers Matthew and Ray Gardiner complete the team.
Writer Finegan, who by the age of 29 has written 48 commissioned plays, will have 15
plays on five continents in 2011.

The show stars David Heinrich, Jude Henshall and Alirio Zavarce.

So my daughter and her 4 children can go to some live theatre - they are on a low income and without a car are limited in recreational opportunities. My daughter is Aboriginal and suffers from a mental health disorder so any fun that can be injected into their lives as a family is great - thank you

I am with Mum - Jane raves on all the time about all the shows she gets to see as editor of Lowdown and I would like to get to see some of the shows too.
Plus I love Fin's writing he is soooo clever! And I have never won a competition draw before. Love HBxx

Hi I'm a new drama highschool teacher and would love to go to a theatre performance like this!! It looks inspiring, creative and exciting-what a great experience to help fuel some engaging lesson planning!!

I've seen previous (adult) work by the Border Project and would LOVE LOVE LOVE the opportunity to take my 8 year old son to see this show (we live regionally so the cost of seeing show plus travel is a bit off putting - free tickets would reduce one pressure!). I'm really keen for him to see some quality theatre for children, we took him to see Erth's Dinosaur Petting Zoo which was fantastic - but other than that have been pretty disappointed with the quality of works for children and families we've seen together so would really love to be able to take him to see this. (also I heart the work of Finnegan Kruckemeyer and know his writing is always beautiful - for adults, children or families he's a winner) - Pick me! Pick me!

Hi Lowdown - Ive heard so much about these 2 companies from my daughter. She raves about their work and some times sits at the dinner table and talks for hours about how clever they are!! Send me a family pass so I can finally see what she's banging on about! Kind regards. MUM (The mother of Jane Gronow (the Lowdown Editor))
