Struggling for ways to escape the heat and pass those lazy summer holidays? Well look no further: Spare Parts Puppet Theatre have got everyone covered, with spaces still available in their puppetry workshops for both big and small kids.

For the little ones, there are One-day and two-day workshops available, during which the kiddliwinks will be guided through the process of crafting and performing their very own puppetry show. Participants will also enjoy a performance of the current production (The Night Zoo, fyi) as part of their workshop fee.

One-day puppet making workshops are suitable for 4-6 year olds, while the two-day workshops are designed for those aged 7-12 years. Dates and prices can be found on the Spare Parts website; bookings and BYO lunch are essential, so call (08) 9335 5044 to ensure you don't miss out.

All you big kids need not miss out on the puppetry fun either. Thanks to the Ian Potter Foundation, Spare Parts will be hosting a master class for professional artists in February, run by the extremely talented Leisa Shelton.

Leisa trained in Paris at the Ecole de Mime Corporel Dramatique de Paris-technique Etienne Decroux (1993-89) and has consulted for such companies as The Sydney Theatre Co., Malthouse Theatre and was a member of the Meryl Tankard Co. She is the Head of Theatre Making at VCA School of Drama and a lecturer for VCA Centre for Ideas.

If you would like more information about the two-day master class please contact Sarah Nelson via email.
