For years, the St Martins Playwrighting Competition has predicted Australia’s brightest new Playwrighting talent.
Previous competition winners have gone on to have their work featured at the Malthouse Theatre, La Mama and in 2009, Amelia Roper’s Big Sky Town (Playwrighting Competition winner 2007) was selected for the VCE Playlist and toured to the Arts Centre and Regional Victoria as part of the St Martins program.
There are two categories, for playwrights 13 to 17 and playwrights 18 to 30 years of age.
Winning entries receive public readings and professional dramaturgical assistance. Some works may even become part of the St Martins Production program.
