The St Martins school holiday program is a fantastic way to spend a week making new friends and building a range of creative skills. Each program runs for one week, Monday to Friday, and concludes with a short performance for family and friends. Workshops on offer these holidays are:
Tell Me A Story! (5-8 year olds)
A workshop for children who wish to bring their favourite story book to life! Participants will create a special performance using movement, text and of course building the set!
Talk To The Hand! (9-12 year olds)
Create your own puppets to tell brilliant stories! Participants will spend the week improvising and writing short plays as well as being introduced to the joy of hand and shadow puppetry!
Solo Performance (13-17 year olds)
Learn how to deliver a great performance all on your own! This week long intensive is perfect for those heading into VCE Drama or looking at auditioning for major drama schools down the track.
If you're around South Yarra, head along to St Martins Youth Arts Centre (28 St Martins Lane South Yarra) from Monday 27 September to Friday 1 October. Tell Me A Story! workshops will run from 9.30-11.30am daily; Talk to the Hand! from 12-3pm; and Solo Performance from 12-4pm. Talk to the Hand! workshops will also take place at the Northcote Town Hall (189 High Street Northcote) from Monday 27 September to Friday 1 October, 12-3pm.
Also, if you live in The City of Stonnington, we've got extra-rad news for you: the City of Stonnington is funding St Martins to run a free holiday program for its residents (that's you!) Chapel off Chapel (12 Little Chapel Street Prahran) will host two workshops daily (Tell Me a Story! from 9.30am-11.30am and Talk to the Hand! from 12-3pm) from Monday 20th - Friday 24th September. The workshops are free as beans but you must provide proof of Stonnington residency with your enrolement form. It's that easy!
To take part in any of St Martins' workshops, simply download an enrolement form, fill it in and return to the office with payment.
