The Sydney Writers' Festival has a new director, Chip Rolley, and a huge programme of events, from workshops and readings to concerts and award presentations.

There are several events dedicated to children and young adults, including a celebration of children's literature with Andy Griffith and other well-known authors; a session with indigenous storyteller Boori Pryor; a sci-fi writing workshop for teens; author Wendy Harmer discussing her new book for young adults titled, I Lost My Mobile at the Mall, and writing workshops for 9-13 year olds.
