Tasdance + TSO = a good night out

posted Thursday, 1 Jul

Tasdance in partnership with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra presents two new dance works by two of Australia's leading choreographers.

In an iconic line-up of Tasmanian creative energies, Tasdance presents Forty Miles - A River of Dreams by Graeme Murphy and Racing Heartby Chrissie Parrott. Heart Matters premieres a new musical commission by Constantine Koukias (Artistic Director of IHOS Opera) and Carl Vine's Tribe's Desire, rearranged especially for this project and performed by the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra.

Graeme Murphy explores nature's ability to stir the soul and free the poetic forces locked within our hearts. Chrissie Parrott's work dwells in the realm of relationships, mapping the physical responses to the ever-changing stages of love.

Heart Matters is on at the Theatre Royal in Hobart July 23 & 24, and one night only at the Princess Theatre in Launceston on Friday July 30.
