Tetrafide & TaikOz band together for one night only!

posted Monday, 1 Nov

For the first time ever, TaikOz are joining forces with WA's brilliant young percussion group, Tetrafide, presenting a one night only display of powerful drumming, delicate beauty and quirky off-beat fun.

The concert will feature both ensembles playing works from their repertoire, followed by an all-in dynamic finalé. TaikOz's program will include the evocative Onikenbai (Demon Sword Dance); a new work by Riley Lee, Passing Through Tears Of Nectar; Ian Cleworth's House Music; and Graham Hilgendorf's Daichi.

Tetrafide performers Neville Talbot, Josh Webster, Iain Robbie and Catherine Bettsreturn are currently at the world's largest percussion convention, the Percussion Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) in Indianapolis, USA. The troop are performing panchavadyam by Western Australian composer David Pye to make up part of the Focus Day concert, which is themed "Ecology of Percussion". It will be Tetrafide's first performance in the USA, made possible by the generous donations of their supporters, and as soon as the team return the countdown to theTetrafide & TaikOz performance will be on.

This special event will take your heart and mind on a journey of epic proportions, and is sure to be one of the peak musical experiences of 2010 in Western Australia.
