The search for the best local, regional, national and international creative practitioners across sound, screen, words, multi-media, journalism, visual arts, craft, fashion, architecture, urban design, science, engineering, sustainability and more has finally come to a close.

Following 120 applications, two days of interviews and many coffees later, four creative practitioners have been chosen to become the second round of Edge Catalysts. Please give a warm welcome to:

Christian Duell
Christian Duell is the new catalyst in the field of sustainability. Christian is the director of White Light, a collaborative design studio that creates architecture and artworks based on individual identity and the experience of public space. A registered architect and emerging new media artist, Christian is also a successful musician, as front man of Brisbane band Mr Rascal.

Andrei Maberley
Andrei Maberley is The Edge's new sound catalyst. He will be drawing on his background of recording, mixing and producing music to teach Edge users how to use their iPhones, Wiimotes and Facebook to make creating music even more fun. A
Queensland Conservatorium graduate, he has remixed the likes of Operator Please and has written soundtracks for television shows, video games and films.

Colleen Morgan
Colleen Morgan will be the catalyst focussing on digital visual arts. Colleen is a designer, researcher and teacher, and is currently completing a PhD in Communication Design at QUT. Her practical experience is varied, from jewellery
design, to creating games for mobile phones, to designing intelligent systems to foster independent learning using mobile devices.

Candy Bowers
Candy Bowers will be wearing the writing catalyst hat at The Edge. A NIDA graduate, Candy is a theatre maker, writer, hip hop artist, director, producer and social activist. She has written, directed and starred in numerous shows, including her one woman show Who's That Chik which recently toured.

Catalysts are the people who animate The Edge and drive the programming. They work in the Edge and are so named because they are responsible for making interesting things happen. Catalysts will have full access to the all the resources of The Edge and will act as mentors to the people working out of the space. For their six months of employment, the Catalysts will enjoy studio space, funding, personnel, audiences and technological tools at their disposal, and will be sharing their work through blogging, Twitter and other social media, spreading The Edge love.

The Edge is the State Library of Queensland's newest initiative, and a cornerstone of the Queensland Government's arts culture + me Children and Young People in Arts Action Plan 2008-2011.
