La Boite and Christine Dunstan Productions are thrilled to present the Australian premiere of Tall Stories’ production of the charming sequel, The Gruffalo’s Child. This fun-packed stage show is adapted from the award-winning picture book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, published by Macmillan Children’s Books.

Brought to life by the ingenious theatre company Tall Stories, this is a wintery wonderland of a show which captures all the magic of the beloved children’s book.

“The Gruffalo said that no gruffalo should, ever set foot in the deep dark wood…” But one wild and windy night the Gruffalo’s child ignores her father’s warning and tiptoes out into the snow. After all, the Big Bad Mouse doesn’t really exist. Does she?

The Gruffalo’s Child brings together physical theatre, music and beautiful puppetry to deliver paw-tapping sing-along-songs, laughs and scary fun for children aged 4 and up.

The Gruffalo’s Child plays at La Boite’sRoundhouse Theatre in Kelvin Grove from 5 to 23 January 2011, and is sure to be a popular holiday treat for children and adults. Bookings are now open - all tickets are $23 (adults at children’s prices).

La Boite is also encouraging Brisbane’s little monsters to let their imagination run wild - and join in one of its all-new Gruffalo’s Child Workshops for children aged 6-8 and 9-12. Children can choose to get moving in a Physical Theatre workshop or sing out and strut their stuff in the Musical Theatre workshop. These specially created two day workshops will be led by professional theatre makers and will combine games, activities to build skills and performance and will be a fantastic way for children to get creative over the January School Holidays.
