The winner of the Victorian College of the Arts 2009 Keith and Elisabeth Murdoch Travelling Scholarship is emerging theatre director and entrepreneur James Brennan. Founder of GoD BE IN MY MouTH, an experimental theatre company whose first production PIGLET won Best Production of Original Work at the 2002 Melbourne Fringe Festival, Brennan explores hybrid and new theatrical forms. He will use the $20 000 award to travel to Brazil, Germany, France, New York, and Poland to observe and work with groundbreaking artists in contemporary performance practices.
