Vitalstatistix is seeking a Program Coordinator to work closely with the Creative Producer and Managing Producer, to assist in the coordination of their annual program of new work, creative developments, residencies and events.
Vitalstatistix is a boutique producer/presenter company, presenting contemporary theatre and hybrid arts projects that:
• are risk-taking, provocative, political, challenging and moving;
• present distinctive, new, outsider, and need-to-be-heard voices;
• are informed by feminist and gender-aware perspectives;
• encompass creative collaboration, contemporary cultural research, imagination and experimentation;
• are intrinsically informed and definitively non-didactic in communication with audiences.
Vitals calls Port Adelaide home, a place with strong cultural spirit, and this informs their production of provocative and highly diverse work. They connect emerging artists with mid-career artists, and continue the proud tradition of supporting women artists.
The Program Coordinator will work closely with the Creative Producer and Managing Producer to coordinate Vitals' annual program. They are looking for someone with arts industry experience who has the energy and ambition to keep up with an extremely hectic pace, a broad skills set, and a passion for Vitals' curatorial vision. You will be someone who is quick to take on new and varied tasks, with strong coordinating skills, lots of initiative and who thrives in a small dynamic team.
Key roles and tasks will include administration (such as contracts, schedules, information management), project and event coordination (working on projects such as Adhocracy 2011), and other programming assistance (such as assisting with funding applications, maintenance of our creative partnerships, and organisational planning).
You will have an opportunity to be creative and you will be helping to maintain the daily grind of the company.
Sound like your kind of gig? Then get applying: applications are due on Monday, 29 November and should address the following selection criteria:
• Strong and demonstrated arts program/project coordination skills and experience;
• High organisational capacity – including the ability to work across multiple projects, excellent time management skills, an eye for detail and a sense of initiative;
• Understanding of and passion for Vitalstatistix’s current vision and programming direction;
• Knowledge of the South Australian arts industry, particularly the independent and small-to-medium sectors;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a small team and capacity to take on a broad range of tasks.
Applications should also include a current and relevant CV, and the contact details of three professional referees.
Please direct enquiries and your application to Emma Webb, Vitalstatistix Creative Producer via email or phone: (08) 8447 6211.
The Vitals crew prefer to receive applications by email, but if this is not possible you are welcome to post to:
11 Nile St, Port Adelaide, SA 5015.
Applications must be received by 5pm on Monday 29 November, 2010. For more information and to see what excitement you're in for should you score the position, check out the Vitalstatistix website.
