The hunt is on for the new YouthFM Mentor; a supportive, savvy and stylish ruler of the airwaves.
YouthFM is a collaborative weekly radio program produced by and for local young people. Currently transmitted once a week via Three D Radio 93.7 on Thursdays at 4pm, the program provides a unique opportunity for young people to access training and skills development in radio production.
The Program is funded and coordinated by the cities of Norwood Payneham & St Peters, Burnside, Prospect, Campbelltown and Unley. The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters is the host for this program.
As the YouthFM Mentor, you will coordinate and support young volunteers in the production of the YouthFM radio program. The role involves the development of young people’s radio production skills through ongoing mentoring, support and the provision of training workshops.
Previous experience in radio broadcasting is essential. Experience in running workshops and working with young people is preferred.
The position involves 8 hours per fortnight with occasional additional hours and will be
offered on a fixed term contract basis to June 30 2011. Subject to availability of funding, it is likely that the contract will be extended to June 2012.
