Westside Circus is Full of Beans

posted Tuesday, 28 Jul

Westside Circus has received a grant from the federal government (FAHCSIA) to work with refugee children and their families in the district of Gorton.

This project will build on the Full of Beans program based at the West Sunshine Community Centre. Circus and storytelling come together, under the direction of community publisher Victoria Ryle, award winning author Martine Murray and Westside’s circus artists Ailsa Wild and Sarah O’Donoghue.

The outcome will be a fictional circus book which will encapsulate the stories, ideas and images drawn from local preschoolers and their parents who are from newly arrived and culturally diverse backgrounds.
