From January 7 to 16 2011, Kim Carpenter's Theatre of Image will premiere Snow On Mars at the York Theatre, Seymour Theatre Centre, as part of the Sydney Festival 2011.

Snow on Mars is an inspiring adventure that blasts off with aerial performers, actors, music and songs, making it perfect for audiences from 6-106. Conceived and designed by Kim Carpenter and written by Richard Tulloch, Snow on Mars is directed by Gale Edwards, composed by Peter Kennard and choreographed by Rowan Marchingo.

Aiming to stimulate children’s imaginations with an intriguing future - the exploration of Mars in the tradition of Cook, Magellan and Columbus, Snow on Mars will help our understanding of where we fit in the universe.

Kim Carpenter's Theatre of Image was founded in 1988 by the Artistic Director, Kim Carpenter and is an advocate for young people and their families.

On Sunday, January 9, 2011 at 5pm the York Theatre will host a Show & Party, where attendees can see the show, then meet the cast at the aftershow party. In the tradition of Theatre of Image family openings, Sweet Art will create a special Snow on Mars cake; and ToI Ambassadors Hugo Weaving and Miranda Otto will also be there to cut the cake and feed the excited troops.
