YAQ's Navigation Arts Business Training goes weekly

Youth Arts Queensland’s well-known Navigation Arts Business Training program returns to Brisbane with a new delivery model.

Starting Wednesday, 17 February YAQ will be offering one Navigation unit a week finishing on 7 April 2010. The course will be held from 6pm to 9pm in the YAQ training room every Wednesday night allowing participants to focus on one unit and completing all training exercises on the night.

All components of Navigation are nationally accredited. The units to be covered over the period are:??

* Wednesday, 17 February: OH&S / Risk Management?
* Wednesday, 03 March: Grant Writing?
* Wednesday, 10 March: Working with Community?
* Wednesday, 17 March: Project Planning and Budgeting?
* Wednesday, 24 March: Marketing?
* Wednesday, 31 March: Design Essentials?
* Wednesday, 07 April: Making Presentation / Pitching

The training will be facilitated by YAQ’s new Lead Trainer Ray Bourne and a group of peer trainers. Guest speakers will be invited to individual sessions to offer plenty of real-life examples and case studies.

Navigation is designed to equip young, emerging artists and cultural workers with the key business knowledge and skills required for a sustainable career in the creative industries. The training package is worth $1,600, and subsidised for people 30 years of age and under.
