Youth Arts Queensland has a brand new website!

posted Tuesday, 1 Feb

As the peak body for young people in the arts and creative industries in Queensland, YAQ aims to provide services to young and emerging artists and artsworkers right across the State as well as the organisations and communities that support them.

Their new website contains not only information about YAQ and all their programs but also a range of resources such as a Queensland arts directory, a comprehensive grants and funding directory and useful fact sheets for budding artists.

So what’s new about the website?

Glad you asked. What’s new is that You – the individual artist, the council worker, the artsworker in a theatre company – can contribute your own content! It’s easy, it’s fast and by contributing to the YAQ website, you speak to the hundreds of people who visit the site every week and the over 1,500 people who receive newsletters.

To get your news item onto the YAQ website, all you have to do is contribute - fill out the appropriate form and your news or event will appear on the YAQ website! It’s that easy! You can add your own photos, links and website. Contributors from Cairns and Brisbane have already started posting their exhibitions, circus shows and festival news.

What’s happening to the YAQ newsletter? That’s where Lowdown gets all the YAQ news from!

So it doesn’t take your whole lunch break to read, they're cutting it down to the 9 or 10 most up to date and interesting news items, upcoming events and blogs posted to the website that week. If you’re a YAQ member, you’re first choice to appear in our newsletter highlights. You can still check out all the news and events on our website any time of the day.

Go online for all the information! Write a blog post or comment on one of theirs! The YAQ website is a place for everyone working in the arts and creative industries in Queensland - artists and artsworkers, organisations, ARI’s and creative businesses - to share their latest news, thoughts and upcoming events with other members of the Queensland arts community.
