Queensland’s premier youth theatre company is seeking an inspired and highly motivated person to join its dynamic team. Working closely with Artistic Director Andrew Cory, the Creative Producer will focus on all aspects of business and project management, including taking the role of Festival Director of the 2011 Backbone 2high Festival.

BACKBONE works to inspire, empower and equip young people to engage with contemporary theatre practice and to develop their creative capital. We specialise in delivering quality and innovative arts experiences for young people aged nine to 26 by working with government, community service organisations, professional arts organisations and the private sector to create training and performance projects. Central to their work is the belief that young people must be placed at the core of their approach to art and training.

Backbone provides a mechanism for young cultural producers and theatre makers to actualize their full potential and be at the forefront of innovation.

The successful applicant will have a record of achievement in all aspects of project and event management, including planning, budgeting, financial management, revenue raising, communications, staffing, marketing strategy and will have demonstrated that they can work well as a member of a team.
