New Creative Producer joins the Backbone Youth Arts team.

Sue Rider, Chair of Backbone Youth Arts, today announced the appointment of Rebecca Smith as incoming Creative Producer for the Brisbane based youth theatre company.

“Backbone’s reputation continues to grow as Brisbane’s leading youth theatre company and this is a pivotal point in the company’s development,” Rider said.

Backbone specialises in delivering quality and innovative arts experiences for young people aged 9 to 26. The company works with government, community service organisations, professional arts organisations and the private sector to provide mechanisms for young cultural producers and theatre makers to actualise their full potential. A major annual project is the highly successful 2high Festival.

Having worked in the Youth Arts Sector at Queensland Theatre Company for more than 5 years , driving programs and projects aimed at strengthening the opportunities available to young arts practitioners in Queensland, Rebecca says
