Melbourne Symphony Orchestra

With a reputation for excellence, versatility and innovation the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is Australia’s internationally-acclaimed and oldest orchestra, established in 1906.

Warrnambool Regional Schools’ Concert

The opportunity to hear a live symphony orchestra is a rare experience for school children today, especially those living outside of metropolitan Melbourne. The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra believes that experiencing live music can be an inspirational and transformative experience for audiences of all ages, which is why we present concerts for schools throughout regional Victoria. This is made possible through the generous support of Powercor, whose sponsorship in 2011 will enable the MSO to tour to five regional venues: Ballarat, Bendigo, Hamilton, Shepparton and Warrnambool.

In addition to our main stage concerts, we are offering two engaging and informative concerts for school children in Grades K to Lower Primary (10am) and Upper Primary and above (11:30am).

In these concerts Brett Kelly and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra will take young students on a musical journey through Italy, Austria, Romania, and Argentina, featuring the great works of Mendelssohn, Boccherini, Bartók, Piazzolla and Mozart.

The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra will be holding these school concerts in Warrnambool on 12 May. Please contact the Warrnambool Entertainment Centre on (03) 5559 4999 to book tickets.
