Junction 2010

Junction 2010, the seventh Regional Arts Australia biennial conference, is all set to unleash an explosion of ideas and creativity in Launceston later this year. Being held in Tasmania for the first time from August 25-29, the event promises to be one of the largest gatherings of arts professionals ever in the state.

The call for expressions of interest for the conference has already generated an enthusiastic response with nearly 200 submissions received from places as diverse as Dubbo, the Cocos Island, Toronto and the UK. A major arts festival is set to surround the conference and fill the city of Launceston with vibrant new work that celebrates and showcases the best regional arts from across a range of disciplines. By ensuring most events are free of charge, the festival aims to provide art that is accessible and the 47-plus events will surely provide something of interest to everyone.

The complete conference and festival program will be launched on April 13, but in the meantime you can receive regular updates by subscribing to the newsletter on www.junction2010.com.au.
