‘Sing-A-Long-A Sound of Music’ returns to the State Theatre on Thursday 4 – Saturday 6 March. Lovers of the musical (what’s not to love?) will join in an unforgettable interactive experience and tribute to the film.
Presented in full-screen technicolour with song lyrics accompanying each song, Sing-A-Long–A Sound of Music is an audience participation event where the surprise host leads a vocal warm-up, gives a guide to the use of the interactive fun pack and accompanying actions and (with a little help from the audience) judges the Costume Parade - a highlight of the night that separates the die-hards from the dabblers! Previous costumes have included nuns (naturally) alps (?) brown paper packages tied up with string, and goats (with or without lonely goatherds).
With classics like Climb Every Mountain; Do-Re-Mi and I am Sixteen, as Maria merrily points out, “When you know the notes to sing, you can sing most anything!”
The show kicks off at 7.30pm and is a value-packed four hours long. Visit www.singalonga.net.
Tickets $31-48,with family passes available. Bookings through Ticketmaster: Phone 136100, or visit www.ticketmaster.com.au.
