We’ve all had theatre experiences we would rather forget. Even more common are those that we could take or leave. At times we will be fortunate enough to witness a piece that will impress on account of the obvious skill of the performers and talent of the crew. Rarer still, are those times that we will leave the auditorium, genuinely changed, wth a reinvigorated perspective of the world that, up until eight pm that evening, we had once again begun taking for granted.

Sydney Theatre Company’s production of Our Town by Thornton Wilder, (Sydney Opera House until October 30, 2010), holds such an experience. The talented cast of fifteen, with the steady guidance of director Iain Sinclair, work as a seamless ensemble in their interpretation of this classic.
